Uluru is part of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Owned by the indigenous people but leased to the Government.

Australia has no autonomous reservations. However, the "Aboriginal Land Rights Act" granted rights to large areas to the indigenous people.
They can, of course, prohibit access to these areas.

Anyway, the decision about Uluru is final.

It's like arguing that you have more rights in a natural place because you have been there first.

I reckon you also would have an issue if the Catholic church argued that the Zugspitze shall be closed for religious reasons.
(it's already bad enough that Christian crosses are disfiguring mountain peaks in Europe)
