Artificial intelligence noise reduction and artifacts - toni-a - 07-16-2023

I have been happily using DXO lately, it's  game changer as I can safely use ISO speeds I wouldn't use before without caring for noise, however lately mostly with their new XD version plenty of artefacts are generated.

Here's a photo taken in sealine area in Qatar: on high tide, the sea creates lagoons among sand dunes, some really awesone photography opportunitis the bright light you can see is Venus not the moon.
Unfortunately noise reduction here created some ugly patterns and I had to turn it off.
It's not the first time I have such issues.
DXO themselves say they keep older versions of noise reduction in the software in case newer ones have such issues

Very nice place and excellent photo (noise apart). I've tried DXO a couple of times and yes, often is very effective, but in some cases I've seen those artifacts you're referring to.
