I'm not surprised that the X-T1 is so popular, or that the NX1 isn't. The X-T1 is amazing, as is the NX1, but so many wants mirrorless cameras to be small and probably don't care for the NX1 due to its size.

A fair few names I recognise on that list, but also a lot I don't.

I'm not sure it is so much a case of NX1 not being popular, but Samsung system cameras not being popular in the first place. While I knew they existed, you don't tend to see much about them compared to Sony/Fuji/Olympus/Panasonic for example.

I actually had a quick look at pricing and availability for the NX1. It is right on the high end for APS-C size bodies, even if you include DSLRs. Only the Canon 7D2 is more expensive in that space. It doesn't even look great comparing to full frame bodies, costing more than the basic Canon 6D, and it is even fighting in the territory of Sony A7II/A7R, Of course, you have to pick on the features you need so I'm not suggesting these will be equal in all situations.
