Then buy the Sigma 17-50 F2.8 HSM EX. It is an excellent lens, which you will not regret on a 60D. Also, if you buy no primes, the Tamron is super. I have used it on a D300s and it easily shoots sharp pictures at 300mm in decent light with the VC. It's a no brainer. The small gap between 50mm and 70mm is of no practical consequence, since you can use the Sigma for anything from landscapes to portraits and the Tamron takes over for any tele work. Good luck!!

Thanks everyone. So Vieux loup and Brightcolours, you're both in agreement with the Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 HSM EX?

You both think it's definitely worth the price over the 17-70mm lens? Where would I see the biggest difference between these two lenses?

Thanks!
