Forums > Back > High pixel density APS-C sensors and lenses
#1
Since very high resolution sensors started becoming available we have a new problem: many lenses cannot cope with their high pixel density anymore.

I read about it especially with the new Canon 5Ds 50 MP, however you might note that in APS-C land pixel density is being almost the same.

Take the 24MP 750D or 80D for instance, pixel density is almost the same , lenses struggling in 5Ds should have same issues here.

Some lenses I use were brilliant on 30D now I notice sharpness drop, I know this won' be visible on prints though

Well, you may notice that the image center and near-center is just fine on the 5Ds R.

The APS-C image field ends before the full format corners.

Well, Hobart would be my personal sweet spot but I'm not there yet. ;-)

I thought that living in Europe at least had a benefit of a much bigger crowd willing to loan the lenses for testing...  Wink
