Well, they have their own "peculiarities" in the US... I've never lived there long enough to get to the bottom of it (nor do I care - it's just another far away country so let 'em roll their own) but I find their gun culture - which is probably at the base of this incident - rather disturbing.

I just don't understand the mistake. It sounds like the guy had no clue what was going on so he responded with a gun.
