Im trying to find out when this lens came out and is it the same as the one reviewed here 3 years ago?

Sigma's website call it an "updated version" but Im guessing that means updated a few years ago.

Well, according to the lens database on the Dyxum.com site, there have been 5 different Sigma zoom lenses in the 24-70mm range through the years.  The version out now was introduced in 2008 (although there could always be minor modifications I suppose, new lens coatings whatever).  I'm surprised to read there was a "Zen" version, I'd always figured this applied to a small number of prime lenses but I guess this proves otherwise!
