how about the 30 1.4 by sigma? not necessarily very wide angle but bright and cheap (2nd hand, not the art one)

Don't forget the Tokina 14-20/2.0 that has been released recently. Lenstip had a test of it and it looked great (optically). The mechanical implementation was... well, Tokina.
