It's a brick: larger than its 100mm fullframe counterparts.

IQ is good, but it's expected given the dimensions of the beast.

If it had been more reasonably sized, I would have been tempted but as it stands, it's a major nono for me.

For macro use, I'll stick with the Olympus 60mm f2.8.

Bit odd focal length methinks...

Why is 80mm odd?

The Olympus 60mm features exactly the same equivalent focal length (120mm FF).

I think it's actually a great one. I find 100mm FF equiv a bit too short.

There was just an offer for a 2nd hand Touit 50 mm Macro. For 550.- I was tempted, but then I used the dp3 Merrill again and thought "at the other end of that Touit there's just a Fuji"  B)

Large size

With all that shortcomings of this bronce-age digital camera: the results still make me happy.

I think, I'll be generous. And leave this lens to the true Fujista-fanboys (not talking about you, thxbb12 Wink )

I don't say it's bad, just uncommon. Maybe they're going to do a couple more macro lenses, and are thus spacing accordingly.
