Canon latest firmware update brought nothing useful.... It just removed compatibility with third party batteries.
Now third party batteries still function normally but the camera will always say they are fully charged...till they suddenly die....
Besides Canon firmware doesn't allow me to shoot full HD videos when using EFs lenses which has no logic basis
Without mentioning that dual pixel autofocus is disabled in 4K video.
Last Canon firmware won't allow EFs lenses to use the whole sensor surface and force a crop.
So a third party firmware should be more than welcome

My 300D has a third party firmware since 10 years and it is still going strong... No third party firmware won't harm the camera...
