I was hoping for an ultra-wide pancake but I reckon they just thought "while we are at it ...".
I wonder how this one will come out... I own the fisheye. The 35mm is a likely purchase when I go full frame, and the 85 isn't bad, but I'd pay more for AF in that case. The 14mm has excessive distortion though. Given all that, I hope the 24 will be more like the 35 than 14...

The distortions of the 14 can be fixed by one click. That's more than nothing but not really a showstopper regarding the potential savings compared to other solutions.

For the fun of it, I loaded the 'Zones test pattern into Picture Window Pro, and verified that I could pretty well fix the Samyang's 14mm distortion in around 30 seconds on the first try.

Ok, maybe I'm over-stating the issue somewhat, but it is the first lens to make me go "Wow!" at the distortion. I'm not very fussy about correcting distortion, but that was significant. I think it would be noticeable in the viewfinder and that would be an annoyance for me.
Still, until I'm in the FF club it wont make my short list anyway.

There's also a correction profile for Photoshop/Lightroom. Here it is really just a mouse-click.
Cool! I bet it's going to beat the pants off of Canon and Nikon's offerings.
I wonder when Samyang is going to introduce a fast fifty.

Doesn't this result in big decrease of corner sharpness?

They make it look easy to build bright primes. But now they should learn how to buid AF lenses, even screw driven. And at least put chips for all the mounts.
