Did you notice that the Zeiss 24mm is a Sonnar instead of a Distagon/Biogon?

I reckon that everything faster than f/2 is a Sonnar.

SLRgear already has the review for 16-50mm lens

I've read the SLRgear review, and it looks like a nice lens: WR, sharp, good speed, and low to moderate distortion.

It's the lack of such a lens in Pentax land that has kept me away from the K-mount.

The new 35/1.4 ZE/ZF.2 is a Distagon.

FWIW, the MTFs are also available on the Sony JP homepage.

16-50/2.8:

55-210:

50/1.8:

24/1.8:

The Zeiss MTFs are not cross-comparable due to the different frequencies.

All the lens elements are much smaller than the diameter of the lenses. Sony didn't try to miniaturize that much. Looks like a standard diameter for all the lenses.

The curves should be more "flat" at F8 <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

The lens cross section SEL50F1.8 looks very different to the SAL50F1.8. The MTFs wide open are better too. Can anyone explain what type of lens design is used?
