I get a 500 Internal Server Error when I set only the year of my birthday, but not the day or month.
Same here, another bug.

What's the difference between Photo and Avatar?

The avatar is shown next to your posts, the Photo only on your profile page. You can choose to have different images, or just use the same one (as I did).

Would be nice if the title page of the window (this is on linux was "Photozone: yada" instead of "Comments", "Activity", ...

(I.e, prefix every title with "Photozone: ")

Minor thing really but I have like 90 browser windows/tabs so it is nice if the sort order is maintained <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

I can't recreate this here. It's nothing that we've customized.

Possibly an impartial CSS download. Maybe try to refresh.

Hi Klaus,

It looks like this was caused by the cookie for the old forum. I was referred to the message to click on the link to the new forum too. After clearing my browser cache etc., all is ok, and I am connected straight away to the new forum.

Kind regards, Wim
Gear: Canon EOS R with 3 primes and 2 zooms, 4 EF-R adapters, Canon EOS 5 (analog), 9 Canon EF primes, a lone Canon EF zoom, 2 extenders, 2 converters, tubes; Olympus OM-D 1 Mk II & Pen F with 12 primes, 6 zooms, and 3 Metabones EF-MFT adapters ....

Actually, I found it still is happening.

I hope I can add a partial screen shot; there seems to be a problem with the re-editing option too (see the http-directives):

It seems weird that all the regulars to the forum are all newbies ;-)

Other than that, the new forum is nice. The 'Todays Active Content' is a nice touch. I have only noticed one bug/feature in FF3.6.3. When you are in the forum topics page, when you hover over a topic there is a small image pops up on the right of the topic. If the topic is long it then expands to the next line whilst you hover which causes the rest of the page to jump down. Mildly epileptic inducing!

I find the design and layout of this forum to be very nice.

Also, the fact that one can change their nickname is brilliant (=

>> But is the rating function necessary? I sure hope people won't abuse it like on youtube when there are two groups (lets say Pantax vs Olympus users for instance) down-rate each others posts oO

>> People who add you as buddies should have the option to send you a short message with their add request à la facebook or myspace, which would be nice.

>> I would like to only show my birthday and month.

>> Would it be possible to enable non-english speakers or those struggling with a simple 'language checker' option before posting?

>> It might be quite useful if trusted members (100+ posts) would be allowed to post - in a market place type sub forum - when they are about to put their photo gear on ebay, so that potential buyers would be noticed.

Looking at this thread: http://forum.photozone.de/index.php?/topic/59-10-snap-commandments/page__pid__267

It would be nice if there was some way to show that links are link so you don't have to go looking for them by dragging the mouse pointer over all text.

Add: It would be good if links would have a different colour to the text.

It's your free choice to set your birthdate. All old forum members were imported without such a date anyway.

Language checkers are available for all popular browsers I believe so there's no need to install a dedicated one here (nor am I aware of such an option).

We discussed a market place but decided against it due to legal concerns.

Please note that this is a purchased forum off the shelf. We can't really add new features on demand. Eventually some plugins may emerge but that's all beyond our influence.
