Is this thing available somewhere by now ?

I checked the usual suspects and didn't find any info on it.

preorder at Adorama... and no scheduled delivery date yet.

P.S. Amazon and B&H also takes preorders already, and Amazon writes about 1 October as release data.

I allready bought 30mm f2 (90 euro inc. postage ...!) and now wait for the nx200+16/2.4 kit:

I'm worried about the 20.3mpix sensor though, 12-16mpix would have been so much better :-(

Then buy the NX100 or the NX11 <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Buying the kit I mentioned (NX200+16/2.4)for 599GBP would make it quite a bargain,if I could get a 16/2.4 for cheap I would definetely get NX11 and wait for NX20...

I keep on wondering how Samsung intends to get some market-share ....

Let see what we got:

NX shop presence: basically non-existent

Web-Shop presence: marginal (at best)

Marketing: marginal

Time-to-Market: unreliable

Service: what service ?

I reckon this is all different in Korea but this doesn't help in the rest of the world.

its a real shame. I wish sony and samsung would combine their camera devisions. We could have a sony sensor with a samsung amoled screen and samsungs lens selsction that shows some consideration for serious photographers.

My guess is that Samsung waits for full lens lineup, and then will start marketing. At the moment lack of lenses might be a factor not to get NX. They have resources, and only their ambitions (or lack of them) in this market could be the limiting factor to grow.

It looks to me like Samsung is starting with the American markt. Have a look at B&H and you will see that they offer the full range of the NX lens line up with the NX11 and NX200. I assume they are bringing out a successor to the NX11 with more MP before Xmas, but even without that, their lens line up is pretty interesting, if they bring all what they promise to market in time.

That's a shame as the NX system to me is the one that attracts me the most in terms of lenses.

I'm looking for something really compact with an APS-C sensor (m43 too small for DOF work IMO).

Zooms are too big, so a couple of fast small primes would be perfect. That's exactly what the NX offers and at a very affordable price. Their prime lenses are very good, especially compared to Sony.

Now, I don't understand why they didn't design the NX-200 with a built-in EVF. That's a very big mistake IMO. Sony did it with their NEX-7 which I think was very smart. Unfortunately their lens selection really sucks.

Adding a external EVF is very expensive and renders the camera much larger. I really hope Samsung will come up with a new version integrating a EVF...
