That seems already quite a bit of stuff. I take the 9-18 is the only Olympus lens left in your private zoo.

Haven't done much planning yet and will use my remaining days to do so but I'm meeting relatives (living in Cleator Moor, Cumbria) first week who would like to go to Arran Island for a starter. After this week I would be on my own and was thinking to try and see a few islands up to Skye if time allows. Haven't done much homeworks so I'm yet to determine how mobility is in Scotland (buses, train, etc...)

I tended to cycle, but it seems you want to go by public transport. On Arran there is a bus going around the island (at least there was a few years ago). In general [url="http://www.travelinescotland.com"]http://www.travelinescotland.com[/url] is the place to find out about public transport. The Island Hopscotch is indeed what I suggested. It is a discounted ferry ticket, allowing to move from one Island to the other. Skye is beautiful - breathtaking scenery. Since the bridge was build it is a bit more crowded. I typically like the ones which are harder to get to best: Islay, Harris, Colonsay. From the easy ones, the Mull-Iona trip is perhaps the best. You can do it as a day tour from Oban - special tour ticket incl. ferry bus and second ferry, I don't think you can get this via the traveline web site.

The 20/1.7 is a different story, btw. I followed your advice and got one, too, and it easily replaced the Summilux 25 here. It's not quite that good, but only slightly behind. Which is quite impressive since it's just about the size of the adapter required to mount the huge Leica lens on a mFT camera ...

I thought about waiting for the 100-300 but I'm guessing it will be priced in the 700 euro and is indeed just that tiny bit too large for my taste. Another option was to wait for Olympus mft 40-150 since it seems they have found their way back to make good optics but I would have travelled in december then <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Yes, my kit lens 14-42 was sold to a friend just yesterday... Only 9-18 left. It's a very charming lens but frankly I still think it's no match to panasonic lenses build quality wise. It's definitely a move in the right direction so I'm looking forward to Oly's next lenses.



Cycling would be nice, might consider renting one or borrowing one of my relatives.

With some CA correction and careful sharpening these photos will print big and fine. Dotn judge image quality on screen, unless your audience does as well. Print , hang on the wall and step back until the whole pic fits your eye's field of view.

And: dont "test" telephoto lenses by shooting distant subjects. Even on a clear or overcast day athmospheric hazes will reduce sharpness.
