The MTFs are basically identical compared to the mk I so it's only about the coating - just like on the 12-24 II. Plus the new AF motor already used in the 16-28mm - which is certainly nice.
I couldn't see which mounts it's coming to. Got any ideas?
Edit: I see now, Canon and Nikon. That's disappointing. Could use a wide angle lens with f/2.8 for aurora and other sky stuff.

yes i seriously thought about this lens too, but i've always wanted 8mm (12 equiv) so sig got the nod and although not perfect it is really not too bad at all - and well, i'm lucky enough to already have a lovely 1635 2.8 (ff natz) .... and all the money hasn't quite gone yet ....
and alexander, the lights up there should have been good recently, or maybe they are always good and worth a look

meaning, possibily better in terms of reducing flare and CA?...

No wander tokina started a rebate program here in states for that lens. $50 off.
Hopefully the price drops more- already seems like too good of a deal already though.

I think the lens is already very "cheap" in relation to the specs - namely the fast max. aperture.
Klaus, you handle the both Tokina and Sigma which is better? Assuming both are 11-16 zooms.
