They are the same ...
If someone is looking for a NEX 7 - I've one for sale (1000EUR). Mint. Basically unused.

Look at the differences in corner performance between the 5N and the 7. definitely something going on there.

not your favorite camera then.....possibly this might not be the best place to advertise it for sale do you think....
and i wonder about the 77, well i don't wonder about the evf :-( ....and anyone else that might be thinking about using this sensor too
Hum. Amusing. I knew the 7 performed not so well with symmetric (hope that is the right term) designed lenses; but I thought it was suppose to be ok other wised. Just how poor are the results with a lens like the 85f1.4 or 50f1.8 ?

The Zeiss 85mm had its share of problems here as well.
I have a NEX-7 and tried the CZ85 f1.4 on it. Brilliant performance, corner to corner. Another lens that does really well on the 7 is the CZ24-70 f2.8. Both lenses are rather heavy and large, but 24Mp on such a small sensor is asking a lot. Maybe the biggest surprise, for me, is the Sigma 8-16. That lens does really well on the 7 as well. You have to stop it down a bit.
I use the LA-EA1, although that should not do much (apart from the better SNR due to more light)

The 85 is sharp when stopped down. The corner resolution is not high at f/1.4 though - unlike on the A700.
I made some new test shots (it gets a bit dark, but managed). Completely open is a bit hard. Even in the center the result is not razor sharp. The corners do not look much worse than the center. When I stop down to f2.8. everything starts to look really sharp. Maybe my focus was just a bit off. Will try again tomorrow, in daylight.
Will also try the same setup with the NEX-5n, which is in general better behaved in the corners, although I have little experience with this, use mostly retro focus (DSLR) glass.

The center sharpness is very good at f/1.4 according to my results here. The corners aren't bad but nothing to write home about.
