It is, of course, even better on APS-C:

You have to make sense to the focal length in this scope.

At 45mm equivalent, it is not far off the ideal standard lens focal length, assuming you're not an aperture fanatic. Making sense of the price is the harder part for me, but then I'm not its target...

Indeed, depends how you calculate standard lens. 50mm is an ideal standard lens for landscape orientation on 135 format.

For a lens that serves both portrait and landscape orientation, 43mm is ideal.

For portrait orientation 34mm would be ideal.

It is a nice lens as compact standard lens with lower weight and a bit higher IQ than the f2.8 standard zooms. That will make it worthwhile for some.

Hi Klaus,

I have been looking forward to a review of the EF 24 f/2.8 IS USM, as it might make more sense on APS-C than the 28.

Is there such a project in the pipeline?

Thanks,

Arjan

Not sure I understand the price. Maybe quality control ?

Speaking of "45 mm"... Any chance for the "other" two TS-E lenses to be reviewed?

You can buy one without hesitation, if the focal length appeals to you. The 24mm f2,8 is a good lens also.
