So the pricing is actually very competitive for what it offers.

Nice find. So much for the massively overpriced hype <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

I reckon the "rumors" referred to the kit price with the 18-135.

1700EUR would have been too close to the 5D II, D700, A850 in order to be realistic.

So the spec looks right, the price looks right, now to be able to actually buy the thing. If the focusing screen is the same as the K-7 I will order one in preparation for the October release.

Klaus, maybe a cheeky question but have you been in contact with Pentax about getting a K-5 for review?

It's official here in Germany now.

The MSRP is higher though (1459EUR).

And the good news is ... the 18-135 is not based on the Tokina 16.5-135mm.

Not bad at all.

Just really hoping for manual control for video.. AF would be nice, but I have big doubts, but M for video is a must!

Hmm €200 extra, I wonder how long that will last. The Market place will decide <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Well, the french site has surely listed its personal street price.

As usual the street price will be 20% below the MSRP in no time (in Europe at least).
