They had very detailed sensor tests but this one is fancier... I don't know when they have introduced such kind of test reports but it's fun to check various kind of combinations and compare them.

I wonder why they give the Pentax DA* 16-50mm two stars for landscape. It's extremely sharp at "landscape" apertures, and it's wider than both the Canon and Nikon 17-55mm 2.8.
I found that interesting also. But rather than the given stars, other technical data is quite interesting.

Hm, just checked the Nikon lenses: all FF lenses have the resolution around ~60 lp/mm, while all DX lenses have resolution ~40 lp/mm. Are they dividing the DX resolution by the crop factor?
I guess DA 18-55 AL II/DAL/WR. BTW, it is a second site founding similar resolution between these lenses, first being lenstip.com polish version optyczne.pl (english version doesn't contain 16 - 50). Seems here in Photozone is first version review. I do not have 16 - 50, so no personal opinion.
A.
In my experience the 16-50 is sharper in the edges from 5.6 and smaller apertures. I had to go to f/11 with the white kit lens IIRC. Later on I'll be doing various comparisons to see the different qualities of both lenses more clearly compared to each other.
Mind you the canon 18-55mm is as sharp as the 17-55mm.
