Keith Cooper from Northlight Images also received a pre-release copy, and hopes to have a review up (testing in  on his 5Ds) in a few weeks.

This is what it looks like in comparison to the Canon EF 11-24mm f4 L USM:

It's worth mentioning!       and not......" it's worth to mention"

I hope you don't take umbridge!

Well, you forgot to mention that "in the meantime" is 57 mio hits...

Also, http://dictionary.cambridge.org/spellche...+meanwhile  does not find it.

And the Dictionary app on my Mac does not find "in the meanwhile", although it is then listed under meanwhile without further explanation.

As to finding 4.7 mio hits, there is no regional breakdown. In uk you have only 54'000 hits for "in the meanwhile" against 3.1 mil hits for "in the meantime".

Meanwhile is usually an adverb,  perhaps that's why it doesn't ring well  "in the meanwhile"   . There does seem to be also

the noun of meanwhile, but not sure how frequent that is.

I suspect most uses of 'in the meanwhile" (like in the us) are "wrong" usage.

Check

Both can also be used as "in the meanwhile" and "in the meantime" ...

In these modern times expressions develop and come into fashion often because they "bump" us by their grammatical incorrectness. Some errors won't go away...where I used to live in Essex, (where they speak estuary English)  many said "ball bearions" instead of "ball bearings" who knows why?

"In the meanwhile" bumps me, because I've never heard anybody use it, however these days everybody seems to say and can say what they like, the more grammatical mistakes the cooler it is.

I'm also fascinated by the French language and all it's expressions.

But really I'm old school English so I don't "do" bads.....init!
