Like I said in that post you linked to... some people go through so much trouble to get roughly the same thing that's available elsewhere <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

Thanks. My prime interest is dynamic range
Sony has a nice trick called DRO which enhances DR. I just got me first Sony yesterday and haven't had a chance to play with it but web tests look promising.

However I guess the question is at what point is the camera "good enough" for the intended uses?
Wise words. Personally, I went from 1D to 40D to 7D and have just added the A33. IQ is good enough for me and and other benefits I find in this sensor size (size, weight, cost, EF-S lenses, AF etc.) mean that I won't be buying any FF body in the near future.
I hope this week I will get it. I should have been delivered last weekend, but what can you do?... Good things don't come earlier in life...

Depends on who you buy from <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' /> ! I have very good experience with www.digit-photo.com and www.cameratools.nl ! Check the prices, I hope you have got as good or better ones.

I can vouch for cameratools too. I've bought stuff there, but I was fortunate enough to work at a place very close to their brick store for a while <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />.
Nice guys, with a passion for photography and good service.
Kind regards, Wim
Gear: Canon EOS R with 3 primes and 2 zooms, 4 EF-R adapters, Canon EOS 5 (analog), 9 Canon EF primes, a lone Canon EF zoom, 2 extenders, 2 converters, tubes; Olympus OM-D 1 Mk II & Pen F with 12 primes, 6 zooms, and 3 Metabones EF-MFT adapters ....
Another advantage of FF not listed yet is the availability of wide angle primes.
There are no equivalent of the high end 14/2.8, 24/1.4, or 35/1.4. Neither there is for their affordable F/2 counterparts.
