That is a nonsensically high price, the 1D-X mk III costs less and contains more expensive stuff (OVF, high end mirror assembly, extra battery capacity and grip).

Latest rumour (rated more reliably) is a price of under $4000.

Between guesses ....... $6,800 would put it in dreamland .......... under 4,000 would put Nikon in nightmare-land !!

A Nikonian moving Canon?? all the Nikonians I know would never do it, even if it is the only still functioning camera on earth. 
They are allergic to anything that has Canon name on it.

True, but if I wasn't, I would very likely be more tempted by the Canon R system (and especially their lenses) than by Nikon Z.

However, since I am a dinosaur, I'll stick to F mount. And M mount (changed my mind )
