What I see in MTF charts - astigmatism, and midframe is sharper than centre. Go figure...

Interestingly, Dustin Abbott has a review of the lens, already. In general, I'm a huge fan of his reviews as they tend to be quite unbiased and full of samples that show the non-techical part of lenses' performance (read - character). As you can read/watch here: https://dustinabbott.net/2020/08/sigma-85mm-f1-4-dn-art-review/, there is a lot to like about the lens, but he does not report any issues with uneven highlights, but I find some cases where they can be distracting. Plus - double bokeh

I'm looking forward a more formal review here.

Watching the Dustin Abbot video review .... I found the bokeh worse in the grass images .... micro explosions of bokeh balls ..... bubble bokeh almost ...........

The astigmatism isn't really bad there - it's no worse than on the DSLR version and better than on the Canon RF 85mm f/1.2.

Regarding the bubbles - looks bad - but does this also apply to normal viewing distances? At min focus pretty much everything goes downhill except for true macro lenses.

Given the size, weight, price and samples at DPR the lens is great.
