400mm f/6.3 mirror

What the heck were they thinking? I mean, take the usual drop in transmission of a mirror lens into account, we're looking at a 400/8 refractive lens here. Who is missing such a lens?

Depends on how small/cheap it is. If it has AF I might give it a 2nd look.

If I'm reading it correctly, note it appears to be Kenko branded, not Tokina.

I tried to read the linked page via babelfish ...

I see the 400mm being marked as "lightweight"

and "compact", which are certainly attributes

of mirrorlenses ... but I don't see it explicitely

mentioned that the design will be a mirror lens.

Have I missed something in the text?

They've recently brought a very promising 16-28mm f/2.8 F-mount in the market as an alternative to Nikon 14-24mm. It's always good to have decent alternatives in the market (especially if they're FF compatible UWAs)...

Yep. However, some sites reported about this lens earlier than dcwatch <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />
