Well, “optically superior to the old Zeiss lens” is not a big deal, given the mediocre predecessor. It depends: how much? Let's see.

I dreamed of the 16-80/3.5-4.5 ZA in my final days as an A mount user. It was a nice lens and there's no reason they can't repeat this performance......... right?
