It is brand new. They claim it to be substantially smaller than conventional mirrors.

Price: 9800yen.

Ok. I can't see properly how big the mount is on that picture, but the price was certainly low, but it is a mirror of course <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' /> It will be interesting to see how it performs.

Just what the world needs. Another manual focus T-mount mirror lens.

I'm guessing it's smaller simply as it is shorter focal length than the average of typically 500mm.

Hopefully the mirror is of a good quality... there aren't many mirrors with good mirrors sadly!

Also the 400 instead of a 500 or 600 or 800 makes it a bit more handholdable (around a 1/3 of a stop).

I'm looking at the Samyang 500mm. It looks interesting, a good focal length, and I'm wondering how the quality is. I have the 85mm, and I'm quite pleased with it, specially considering the price. The also have an 800mm, and I wonder how that is as well.

Keep away from the Samyang mirrors... most people hate mirror lenses because they use the cheapest stuff out there and compare them to refractors.

Just go to a camera store and try out a Sony AF 500 for example... you'll see what I mean <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
