A bit pricey at $899 USD

The MTFs don't suggest awesomeness, either.

Uh, wouldn't you rather use the 28-200/2.8-5.6 and crop some?

Speaking of the Tamron 28-200, Klaus do you plan on reviewing it at some point?
I find it very versatile and with very good IQ given the range.

I'm currently in prime lens mode, I'm afraid ;-)

I really have to catch up on some of the higher-end stuff.

Oh... I've tried (mentally) to compile the list of yet untested AF prime lenses for Sony E mount alone, and got lost after two dozen. 15 from Sigma alone.
We live in great times, equipment-wise, so many choices.

cool! I have the 70-180mm / 2.8and it is by far my most used lens, but I often wish I had a longer focal length, so will probably pick this up for the extra 120mm under $1K
