I assume you have all seen the picture of the D4 in Nikon Passion? Quite interesting!

I guess, but it seems well documented and Nikon Pasion is normally not printing just unsubstantiated rumours at the editors level.<img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />

This is the (widely available) Nikon D3 product shot, overlaid in PS with some sort of carbon fibre structure.

There have been rumors of CF usage in the D4, but that image is certainly not showing the upcoming camera.

Who cares whether the picture is the real look of the D4, I think the info about the Thunderbolt technology is interesting.<img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' /> Kindly

Ok, that was rather lame. Or an attempt of a joke, but then still lame.

Anyway, welcome to the forum <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />.

Something makes me think that the successor to the D700 is right around the corner. I have asked several resellers over the last 6 months and, until now, they have always answered clearly that they know nothing, but that it is not soon. This time nobody answers, which makes me think that something is about to be launched. Has anyone else heard, or not heard, something? Kindly VL

Not sure if anyone's seen this:

or this:

It's a shame that online retailers are pocketing the extra money here. Wish they donated the extras to Japan instead. While it will not be enough to bring things back to the original state (if that's possible at all), without the production resuming in Japan, what are these sellers going to sell when the stocks run out?

I guess individuals could do it too... but who's going to auction their used D700 and 70-200 VR II and donate the extras to a Japanese earthquake charity?!

As canon shooter I'm carious to know

1.Where are the production lines of canon photographic camera and lens division?

2.Where is located the development division?

3.Where is located the strategic planning and marketing division?

I know that some of the questions are tricky.

E.g Most tokina lenses has sticker made in India but they are assembled and QCed in india, while lens elements and some automated assembly is done in Japan.

Congratulations, GTW, you're the first to receive a warning in this forum.

We all know your position regarding Nikon, but this was clearly over the top. The way you link your subtle brand bashing to the unfolding disaster in Japan (and its unavoidable economic consequences) is both inappropriate and insulting.
