Hi there

I am thinking about getting the end of production Sigma 120-300mm 2,8 HSM. When I looked the lens up i found some links to photozone but the link does not work anymore.

Does anyone remember the test.? Or has a working link?

We withdrew the review after having recognized that the degree of decentering wasn't really acceptable.

hmm, any chance of sending me the lenstest by email anyway? I handle it with care ;-)

What would be your gutt feeling, the 120-300mm2,8 over the 100-300mm 4,0 for wildlife?

Thanks

I'm concidering the new one, if it's not too expensive, though expensive I'm sure it will be.

That is mainly a weight issue, isn't it?

I can handle the weight of both lenses, just not sure if my wife can handle the weight of my empty wallet <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Just use the "way back machine" ...

2500EUR is quite reasonable for such a lens I think. Still expensive in absolute terms, of course.

We'll see what happens when it becomes available for K-mount here in Norway <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

I have the 60-250mm f/4, and I'm very happy with what it delivers, but I would like a bit shallower DoF at times, and a longer reach. And I had the DA* 50-150mm f/2.8 before, and that was a great lens as well, so I'm considering switching the 60-250mm with a 50-135+120-300mm. Also, from what I've read about, and seen from the old 120-300mm (the one before the new OS version), it was very good with a 2x converter as well, so hopefully the new will be at least as good. Then I have a very versatile kit with 2.8 from 16 to 300, with a possibility for 600mm with 5.6, and AF all the way.
