Forums > Back > Sigma Tele Zoom Tests?
#1
The has been a lot of great work done with Canon and Tamron Tele lenses that I appreciate. Is there anything in the queue for Sigma? I can't afford the new Canon 70-200 II, but the Sigma looks promising. I would love to see reviews on the following ranked by preference:

1. Sigma 70-200/2.8 OS HSM

2. Sigma 70-200/2.8 II

3. Sigma 50-500 OS HSM

4. Sigma 150-500 OS HSM

Thanks for the hard work Klaus and Markus.

Yes. However, got the review sample back from Sigma Service just yesterday, but will have to send it in once more (for the 4th time!) tomorrow.

Have you unveiled to them what the purpose of the

lens sample will be? ... I mean I cannot really imagine

they take the same lens in 4 times without telling the

customer that now really everything is within factory specifications.

Not directly, but I have with earlier lenses, so they may have me "on file" anyway already.

However, I definitely will write a rather detailed mail tomorrow morning ... instead of sending in the lens directly. I decided that it's now their turn to cover the shipping fees (I have done so three times now).

Hi,

due to the fact that there are multiple 70-200mm tests available, it would be interesting to read much more about other telezoom lenses and how they perform on fullframe cameras. Concerning Sigma lenses i`m very interested in the Sigma 100-300mm f4. Is there any fullframe review planned for this lens?

Not in F-mount (at least in the foreseeable future).

The 100-300/4 has been discontinued AFAIK.

Which hopefully means it will be replaced with an OS version, soon.

If they could keep the price raise over the old version to 150% or less, I would be tempted. If they do release that, please review it as soon as you can get your hands on one.
