Unfotunately for me that day it will be available in Canon mount. I'm looking forward to see first reviews.

The really good news is new finish of the lens, it looks muck like a Nikkor or Tokina lenses.

I like the old looks better than this new one. I hope this isn't a sign of how things will be from now on with Sigma looks.

I quite like the old speckle finish. This just looks like cheap plastic. But... that's not the important thing. If I were getting a lens in this category, it would be the Canon mkII, so the question is will this make me change my mind?

It look promising. I don't like the old sigma finish. It is dust magnet.

However old 4 sigmas 70-200 ware not in Canon Nikon league.

I like the look and feel of the old look. What do you store your lenses in since you get dust on it?

A pity it comes in Canon mount first ... can't wait to get my hands on a Nikon review unit.

From the images, the new finish looks promising, allthough the tripod collar seems to be unchanged. Which is probably good news, since this could mean the larger TS-41 also fits the new lens.

Personally, I never liked the old EX finish that much ...

Although I like the crinkle finish, I also think it gathered dust a little too much and also that it started to polish over time. I think the new look is quite good and sober and I'm expecting it to be quite a decent performer too if the latest 8-16 & 17-50 are a statement. But full frame is another story...

Will we see a review here on photozone soon?

Sigma EX coating is (was? one can hope) horrible. It looks used and dirty the minute it comes out of the box, and since it is just stuck on the plastic it starts to peel (!) off too. Glad to see it gone!

Tokina is not much better, while it does NOT attract dirt the way Sigma's EX coating does, it also peels off the plastic body.
