Has there been any test or test images from this lens? Is this the same lens as the 4/3 version or a new optical design ?

-

Oops a few samples in the link above but not very controlled or useful. Is this a new optical design ?

There's a side by side shot of the front of the two versions here. I think it would have to be a significantly different design due to the mount distance in itself.

I reckon the optical performance will be very similar though. It's not a pancake design so it doesn't have to deal with many compromises.

MTF curves are also similar so it's again reasonable to assume that the IQ will be similar.

The official list price by Panasonic Germany is 629 Euros. Street prices will be lower than that. Still expensive but clearly not as funny as you thought it would be.

So 550EUR street. Not too bad. However, a Oly 45/1.8 is supposed to be available for 300EUR (or 250EUR street).

Two more good reasons to speed-up mFT lens testing <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' />

It isn't screaming sharp at me wide open, particularly in the flower shot, but it isn't that bad either. Looking at the outdoor shots I can see what I think is sharpening halos too. These images are processed...

- i think we have to be a little bit careful about describing all halos as sharpening defects, maybe yes in this case or maybe not ...

- sensors have made giant strides in a very short time - you should have seen the high-contrast edge halo's that used to be not so long ago that weren't from sharpening effects - now we all make beautiful prints from current DSLR's but for some of us it is still not quality neg ... but there are of course other advantages that digital offers -

- and, this is an expensive lens? - yes maybe, but (urm, without distracting from this thread) maybe best not to inquire about the price of a superrotator then ...

so long for now ...

But how the two are linked? The 45/1.8 is almost twice the FL of the 25/1.4.
