Sweet! M43 line-up of primes looks more or less complete now:

12/2, 14/2.5, 20/1.7, 25/1.4, 45/1.8, 45/2.8 macro. I guess you can throw that funny 25/0.95 in for a good measure <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

That and E-PM1 might have killed the Pentax Q before it even took off.

Well, an ultra-wide would be nice an a 200/300mm prime would also be helpful.

However, it is a good approach to start releasing high quality lenses now. The world had enough kit stuff.

I really like the focus ring arrangement on the 12mm. Hope they put that in more models and not just the high end ones. It doesn't appear to be on the 45mm for example <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' /> but that's not going to put me off that as a near term potential purchase.

Body wise I like the NEX-like PL3, but not enough to replace my E-P1 with it. Yet.

Finally, I think these new cameras look great from the front, which makes the ugly back look even worse to me.
<a class="bbc_url" href="http://snowporing.deviantart.com/">dA</a> Canon 7D2, 7D, 5D2, 600D, 450D, 300D IR modified, 1D, EF-S 10-18, 15-85, EF 35/2, 85/1.8, 135/2, 70-300L, 100-400L, MP-E65, Zeiss 2/50, Sigma 150 macro, 120-300/2.8, Samyang 8mm fisheye, Olympus E-P1, Panasonic 20/1.7, Sony HX9V, Fuji X100.

These are wonderful additions to the MFT family. I'm thinking about EP-3 + 20/1.7 + 45/1.8 set. Not that I need it (I have enough Canon equipment) but they are so cute...

I think the Pana G3/GH2 are more suitable in the field though. An OLED display in outdoor situations ... I dunno ... but this doesn't sound right when thinking of existing OLEDs.

The AF system feels as if its the same like in the Panas, doesn't it ? They're also talking about 120Hz here.

The differentiation between the new Oly bodies is not really clear to me. Basically the same electronics but different implementation.Which is not a bad thing of course.

dcresource has an almost full review of the E-P3 up: http://www.dcresourc...-review/compare They write visibility of the OLED in sunshine IS an issue. For sure one can add the VF-2 finder, but that will eat the flash connector, which is important for an outdoor shoot of people (e.g. wedding type situation).

There were some reference to an Olympus patent using special IR pixels and the green pixels for focussing recently. If you have info on the dispersion of the lens that can give you info on which way to move the lens to get clearer focus without actually moving it. Not sure whether or not this made it into the present set of bodies.

Considering the differentiation, isn't that becoming common in industry right now? How about a Nikon D7000 and D5100? Same sensor but different number of AF points, dials, tilting vs fixed LCD.

Not sure I like to mix Panasonic and Olympus lenses. I studied the 20/1.7 quite a bit. It has not so nice colours in the vicinity of extreme highlights (e.g. metal reflections). I notices similar for the Lumix 45-200 lens (which you haven't listed).

Am contemplating whether or not to save up for the 12/2.

I´m not getting overexcited. Sure, it is big step ahead that finally there are high-quality fast primes with a really portable body capable of producing high-quality images with relatively affordable price on the market. Unfortunately, that´s still only micro 4/3 system so:

1) 12mm/f2 still gives ridiculously deep depth of field, roughly equivalent to 24mm/f4 lens on Full Frame Cam. So in other words, FF cam with 24/f1.4 lens is absolutely in diferent league in this regard.

2)45/f1.8 = 90mm/f3.5 on full frame. Hmm, that is "better than a spit into an eye" (as the phrase has it) but still: Far, far behind my 85mm/f1.4 on D700.

I´m just eagerly waiting for somebody to put the full frame sensor into a relatively light (of course it will always be bigger than m4/3) body and offer some fast primes with that. Currently only the overpriced M9 does that... Maybe Fuji with X200 model is a possibility in the future...? ;-)
