Hi Klaus, it says XF on this lens, not XC.

Good catch ... till your post I was convinced that it is a XC (since it has no aperture ring).

I think the lenses with the aperture ring have an "R" in the name.

Yes the R stands for Ring, as in "aperture ring", while LM is for Linear Motor, XF I believe is for "X-mount Fine" while XC is for "X-mount common" (or cheap, or China, take your pick).
