Has anyone compared the 18-55@35 vs the 35 ? I realize the 35 is a f1.4 lens and so there is a bit of an advantage in bokeh from 1.4 to 2.8; but beyond that any comments on resolution, rendering, field usage, and focus speed?

Or anything in general ?

I have both: I keep the 35mm at home unless I want better bokeh, a smaller lens or if I am going to be shooting in low light. For focus speed, sharpness and stabilisation, the zoom is better. In my humble opinion of course.
Did you have any centering or quality issues with your zoom - i'm hearing mix things...

Not as far as I noticed. I have not tested it.
