Sony α6600, α6100, 16-55G, 70-350G announced
#11
My eye was immediately attracted directly to the A6600 ...... after the radical improvement in AF with the A6400 with their one size fits all AF-C system .... all that was missing was the lack of IBIS ....... now it has a 5 axes system ..........

This IMHO will now be the "new go to vlogging camera" .... they have now covered all the bases AF/ IBIS/ flip up rear screen etc.

You have got to hand it to Sony ...... they just don't let up the pace ....... Bravo !!

They miss the smooth dual pixel AF for video that Canon offers, so not all bases.

Of the Canon which only films in 30fps? I didn't follow all the stuff Jared Polin talked about the M6 (which he found rather nice, yes, with the extra EVF), but I remember they had to film the episode on the Z 6 as well with 30 fps. And all those shortcomings like crop or more crop doesn't fully balance the dual pixel AF  Big Grin and how about face recognition while filming?

I don't think Sony worries too much about dual pixel AF.

The Canon does 25 FPS as well, just not 24fps. I can't find full specs for the A6600, only 4k with 30 fps gets mentioned... And does it use the full sensor for 4K?
24 fps is not really a vlogger thing, btw.

The Sony A6400/ A6600 have dual pixel auto focus and the best in the business !!

No, they do not. They have phase detect on sensor, yes. For video, Canon's DPAF is still the best in the business.

Getting to an already saturated segment in decline has never been a great idea, Canon, fuji, Olympus and Panasonic are well established there, Samsung even dropped the whole thing.
1400$ for APS-C 16-50 that's too much especially without OSS, for 1400$ you can get 250D or M50 plus 17-55 f2.8 IS and still have money

You are aware that this market is basically exclusively owned by Panasonic, right?

The timing is very odd. However, I could imagine that Sony is still selling more APS-C mirrorless cameras than Fuji.
I don't think that APS-C is dead anyway. I, for one, couldn't care less for FF.

It looks to be that the Sony A6400 has the same system as the A6600

...... here in this video the A6600 is compared with the Canon 6D MK II

I'm not seeing the Canon doing better ..... and more to the point the A6600 has far better action/ general shooting AF-C.
