YOU MADE MY DAY!!
Even though... sigh... 20-70 is certainly less versatile than 16-70...

surely very interesting, expect heavy digital correction included but still...

Reading comments around:
1. I can't understand whether its' APS-C or FF. 2. Strangely nobody is mentioning the SEL1670Z and the fact that the new lens could be — at last — an effective replacement (more or less).

If this is a FF lens, which I believe it is (otherwise it doesn't make much sense), this is the lens I've been dreaming of for ages now!
Perfect range. I've always found 24 or 28mm not wide enough. Granted, 70mm is not super long, but you can always crop a bit to reach 100mm with very little impact given the very high resolution at our disposal these days. On the other hand if 24mm is not wide enough and you can't step back, what do you do? I find the Sony lens ecosystem very attractive, but I really dislike their bodies and controls. Hopefully Fuji will get some inspiration from Sony ;-)

Adapt to Nikon Z then. :-) My first impression was that it's an APS-C lens, maybe even cine-oriented, but who knows. I don't think I would be in the market because I'd rather have a bona fide ultrawide anyway, and the middle-range doesn't matter that much for me. Though my 24-85 is looking somewhat more interesting now as a one-lens solution when used on FF (that I sleepwalked into joining).

The fact that the lower end is 20mm, exactly like the upper end of the SELP1020G, makes me think that it's an APS-C. But of course it's only speculation.
Just realized the screenshot mentions it's an FE lens... Which closes the game for me (it will be large and heavy).

I don't expect it to be big, really. It doesn't "require" length, at least.
It'll be bigger than the E 16-70mm, of course, but given Sony's advancements in lens tech - namely the 24-70/2.8 II - I'd say we can expect something in the ballpark of 500g.

Right... Still does match the 10-20 neatly for use in APS-C, a bit similar to how Canon 10-22 (almost) meshed well with the 24-70/24-105 lenses, and how later the 12-24/10-24 lenses fit it seamlessly. Many people I knew were going for this kind of combo.

It would be 1.5x the weight of the SEL1670Z — I'm literally peeling off hundreds of grams from the equipment in my backpack, I'm not going to add. Furthermore I checked, 25% of my shots with the SEL1670Z are under 20mm, that 16-20mm range is important for me. From a certain point of view if you have to introduce a gap in the range it would be better the Sigma 16-50mm, after all if the AoV is too wide you can still crop, but not the opposite.
