Tamron may not like this cheaper competition. Samyangs are good lenses ... if they can get their act together ... in terms of centering.

If it were in RF mount, I would seriously consider it..... it's a dream lens for portraits shooters... focal length is so versatile

It doesn't look like any of the 3rd party lenses will be ever released in RF mount, so I guess you might want to opt out of it somehow.

It was like yesterday that Samyang only had some MF primes without so much as electronic coupling, and now they're throwing down with the best of 'em. Smile

My first Samyang review - an 85mm f/1.4, I think - feels like an eternity ago ... ;-)

"Samyang 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical (full format) - Review / Test Report
Lens Reviews - Canon EOS (Full Format)
Review by Klaus Schroiff, published February 2010"

A lot of time ago indeed (for me, February 2010 was probably one of the best times in my life, because that month I went to Hong Kong, which was to become on of my favourite cities on Earth), but then again, Samyang has only evolved much, much later. Now I guess nobody even really remembers these times, or cares about their manual lenses even if they continue to make them for some reason...

«In "Dolly Shot Mode", the focus ring and zoom ring are linked in the system so that users take dolly shot simply to operate the zoom ring.»

The MF 135mm f/2 seems to be a go-to lens for some astrophotography.
