Well, the scale goes from 1 star to 5 stars ... and this lens
has made it to one star. So, what does this really mean?
To me, I really prefer to have a one-star-lens, than no lens at all.
Long ago, in a travelling/backpacking holiday, I have been on a
street market / flea market, and saw a cheapo kit-zoom for my camera.
I would usually have never thought of buying such a lens, but as I
passed by, the thought "I have only one lens with me" popped into
my mind. Well, it was cheap, I bought it. Two days later, I dropped
my camera, and my lens was history. Now, you can imagine,
that this cheapo kit-zoom came really handy. I took a lot of images
with it ... some are visibly suffering from the quality (or the lack of it)
of the lens, others are quite good. Nevertheless, I would have come
home without images at all, without this lens (which was likely a
one-star lens as well). So, was this lens worth more than one star
to me? ... in that situation ... definately.
Just a sat'dy-morning thought ... Rainer
