I think I'd fit their target quite well. My primary area of interest is wildlife. Tracking AF is pretty much a must for me. Not saying it is essential, but it does come in handy. One big problem I have with bigger sensor cameras is the lack of depth of field. Never mind focus on the eyes, I sometimes have to decide which part of the eye! Yes, I know you can stop down, and I do. But basically the smaller sensor is no big deal there.



Existing players in NEX and m4/3 might have got fast single shot AF now, but that never was that big an issue. The bigger sensors they have means, all else being equal, bigger lenses, where I might as well go DSLR anyway. I know m4/3 have been getting the lens sizes down recently, but they have had a bit more practice at it now, and the advantage will be short lived.



Sure, if you look at the CX as a SLR killer, it will fail. But the point from Nikon is that it isn't intended to be one. They're happy selling you their existing DSLRs if you want to "go large". As their 1st try, I'm sure future generations will improve further.
