I went through the Nikon patent applications that NR linked to in the recent years and extracted a list of Nikon 1 lenses we might see in the upcoming future:
Primes:
- 14mm f/2.8 (Patent link)
- 18mm f/1.4 (Patent link)
- 32mm f/1.2 (Patent link)
Zooms:
- 7-13mm f/3.5-5.6 (Patent link)
- 9-43mm f/2.8-5.6 (Patent link)
There are also several patents for additional superzoom lenses with a focal range of roughly 10.5-110mm, including one with f/2.8(!)-f/5.9. However, since a superzoom with a similar range is already announced, I strongly doubt we'll see another one.
Macro:
- 40mm f/2.8 (NR link)
- 60mm f/3.5 (NR link)
It's interesting to note that Nikon in the early days obscured some of the specs of Nikon 1 lenses by claiming they are designed for a DX sized sensor. The 10/2.8 for example was initially filed as a 18/2.8 DX lens.
Looking through the patents Nikon has filed in general, you can also get an idea about the future of the optical viewfinder in Nikon DSLRs. It seems that unlike Sony they're going to keep the optical viewfinder alive and combine it with an EVF to build a hybrid system (similar to the X100). Best of both worlds, it seems to me.
