Do either of the NEXes offer AF when running at 10fps? I do agree we need to see if this works well in practice, but if it does, it is the next major step to obsoleting the mirror.
As unscientific as it may be, a yes/no poll on bythom.com showed over 10% say they would buy it. I think the true value might be even higher as a "wait and see" option was not given. nikonrumors' poll gave a slightly lower "yes" vote, but they did allow a "not sure yet" answer which took a fair chunk of the vote too. That is higher than the impression you get on the typical photo forum chat.
I think something is clear from all this. Some people get what the 1's potential is. Most don't. It isn't a camera for everyone, and no one ever claimed it was. But it is clear there are people out there who do want this over existing options. For sure it wont attract exactly the same audience as previous mirrorless players, but that is Nikon's plan.
