The DOF ruler shot doesn't indicate a high sharpness at f/1.4. On the contrary everything looks blurred and I somewhat doubt that this deserves a bordering "very good" rating. The DOF ruler shot at f/2 is more like what the MTF-50 suggests at f/1.4, but doesn't really look "excellent" either. f/2.8 does look excellent though, although the focus shift is pretty terrible.
