I assume that's aimed at me since I think I'm the only person to mention cropping in this thread. And that totally misses what I said. I said I do crop a lot, and I also use Photozone results as guidance. I didn't not say that guidance was for how I crop! My shooting style is clearly different than yours, as a low resolution FF sensor is to me low down on my choice as far as DSLR goes and I do make use of any available resolution and it is one major factor amongst many when choosing lenses. There is no one size fits all in photography.
