I just bought it. It is Xmas after all and it works perfectly in A and M mode in terms of the aperture, i.e. the arrows and the focus circle light up like any other lens. I quite look forward to trying it because of the small size and think it could be an interesting "street" lense on the D700. Anyways, it should be great for portraits!
