EXR-Sensors in dynamic range mode already make use of two sensor elements per colour. The new sensor may consist of bigger and smaller sensels as in the Finepix S5 Pro, though I think this was only a stepping stone in sensor evolution and we will not see that.

I wonder how they would manage to read out randomly arranged sensels.
Therfore, I suppose that the sensor elements are in fact arranged in a regular pattern, but read out is randomized by the image processor so that 6 adjacent sensels are combined into one pixel. This method would also emulate the bigger and smaller sensels of the S5-Pro-sensor, since 6 neighboring sensels would not always contain e.g. 2xR 2xG 2xB. The image processor could even gather overlapping samples! The processor of this camera might be a beast.
Now let's talk about this other conundrum: the external autofocus sensor...
