Here are my new test results, exposured to the right. I used M mode to lock the exposure.
It is funny that, if you look at the "left-top squre" and the "right-bottom square", both have somewhat softer boundaries on the left and upper sides than on the right and lower sides. (The grey "frame-like" region is the photoshop background on which the target image is displayed.)
