On the one hand I hope the 2nd version performs much better; on the other hand i find it quite miserable that there is this much of an issue when you buy something at this price point. When I was a kid and purchase my first slr (om-1) I never even considered that the camera would appear to work perfectly fine but be a total lemon (relative to standard). Now it seems like every time you buy a camera or lens you have to spend 40 hours just to determine if it will functionally meet specification.
