Both got rounded aperture blades, which should improve the bokeh (or at least the highlight rendering). And their biggest advantage (compare to a f/2.8 zoom) is the rather small size and weight (even though the 28 has gained both).

Yep, noticed that, too. Which obviously means they'll have to switch to a much smaller and thus less effective hood.
Filter size has increased to 82mm (seems to be the new standard in this segment).
